Play is more than just fun. For children with additional needs, it’s also a powerful tool for growth and development. Here's how:

• Supports sensory regulation – through textures, movement, sound, and calming environments

• Builds confidence – by allowing choice, control, and success in their own way

• Encourages communication – whether through speech, gesture, or simply shared joy

• Strengthens fine and gross motor skills – through gentle, engaging activities

No two children are the same — and that’s exactly why no two play setups should be either. When you book a Play for All Abilities session, we take the time to understand your child’s specific needs, sensitivities, and interests.

Here’s how we tailor each session:

• Pre-session questionnaire to understand your child’s likes, dislikes, and triggers

• Adapted sensory bases (dry, wet, textured or neutral — you choose!)

• Visual supports and first-then boards if helpful for transitions

• Theme-based setups based on your child’s special interests (dinosaurs? trains? sparkles? we’ve got you!)

• Flexible flow so your child can join in or take quiet breaks whenever needed

We believe in creating a space that’s not just accessible, but genuinely enjoyable. Where your child can succeed and be themselves — without pressure.

We know many families include children with a mix of needs — and that playtime can often feel like a balancing act. That’s why our sessions are also designed with sibling inclusion in mind.

We create:

• Side-by-side play zones for siblings to explore together or independently

• Shared setups with multiple entry points so every child can find their way in

• Tools to encourage gentle peer interaction without forcing it

• Moments of connection for families to play, laugh, and enjoy time together — with no expectations

Because play is not just for the child with a diagnosis — it’s for the whole family.
